The German National Cohort (NAKO) health study highlights that hand grip strength serves as an indicator of general health and performance. Reduced grip strength is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, metabolic disorders and increased mortality. Regular measurement of hand grip strength can therefore point to health risks at an early stage and enable preventive measures.
